I Bought a Gym...Membership;)

Well, today I joined a gym! In the past couple of weeks, people have been shocked that I was steadily exercising at the park. Yes, I was aware it was 90+°, but I as I always say..the park is Free! I dropped my baby off at daycare and proceeded to search for a new workout home. My first stop was Gold's Gym. The staff was super friendly, but I was a bit nervous for some reason. There were about 15 people in the open cardio area; small, large, running, walking, chugging water, sipping KoolAid. I liked the mix. I took a tour of the facilities and liked everything I saw! Something was telling me, even though this was my first stop, that this was home. I worked out some numbers with the manager and became an official Gold's member. I was thinking "wonder if I could work out today?" and right after, the manager said "Will you be working out now?" Now this isn't my first membership, but every gym is different. Like, for starters, looked around endlessly for towels, since I was sweating in places I didn't kno could sweat! Then I got on some crazy machine going 90mph that I never figured out! Thankfully, I have an appointment with at trainer Monday:) I stayed about 2 hours today, working out 1.5 hours, and burning over 400 calories, saw some nice looking men, an impromptu salsa lesson, and plenty of middle aged women working out in tennis skirts. I cannot wait to do more people watching in the coming weeks. There's a sign when you enter the gym that says something to the effect of showing up is half the battle..and I truly believe this. Although financially, it world be cheaper for me to brave the heat (and tan lines) and continue working out at the park, it's just not realistic. My schedule doesn't always allow me to exercise early in the morning or after the sun goes down. Joining the gym is definitely a worthwhile investment in my health! If I continue to look at it this way, the monthly fee wont be seen as a bill, but a necessary payment to better my life. Because if I'm working out, and staying healthy..it makes me a happier person, and undoubtedly gets me one step closer to my weight loss goal! I appreciate you reading my very first blog! Maybe it was a bit random and missing key points, but I'm excited to keep this going! Feel free to comment:)
